Sweet Potato Fries

with an herb, lime aioli

This is a recipe for a healthier version of sweet potato "fries". The spiced used help create the effect of actual "fried" sweet potatoes. Go ahead and give this recipe a try - you will not regret it!



  • 1 lb sweet potatoes

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder


  • 1/4 cup kewpie mayonnaise

  • juice of 1 lime

  • 1 clove of garlic, grated

  • 4 mint leaves, fine chiffonade

  • 1/2 tsp dill, chopped

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper


  • Start by preheating the oven by 400 degrees.

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly - you don't have to peel them, but if you prefer that's fine.

  • Cut the sweet potatoes into even sized wedges and place on a large sheet pan.

  • Drizzle the olive oil evenly onto the sheet pan and mix with your hands to make sure each wedge is coated.

  • Next, mix in a small bowl combine the paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder and sprinkle onto the sweet potato.

  • Place into the oven and roast for 30 minutes.

  • After the 30 minutes, broil for an additional 5 minutes then remove from the oven.

  • For the aioli, mix together the mayo, lime juice, mint, garlic, salt, pepper, and dill.

  • Serve together and enjoy!
